Duncan Taylor Octave The Huntly, is a blended malt comprised from liquid distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2017. During that time, the whisky spent five months in an octave cask, soaking up that lovely toasty vanilla influence. Only 98 bottles were released! Nose: Classic Speyside light fruity sweetness suggest the origin of the malts in this expression. Loads of citrus peels, honey and vanilla here with digestive biscuits and brown sugar, too. Palate: Apple crumble, orange peel, and that oaky vanilla spice before toffee notes come through, all underlined by a maltiness. Finish: More drying here, with cedar wood notes and warm spices.
